Titan™ is designed around a distributed processing model which separates the on-air interface from the actual playlist controller. Titan's List Processor is a compact executable whose only mission is to run playlists with frame accuracy. With only a status and maintenance GUI, multiple List Processors can run concurrently per workstation. Each List Processor is independent, with its own SQL server and frequently refreshed copy of the media database. For even
greater fault-tolerant redundancy, add TitanSync™ to mirror the List Processors.

Scalability

Titan is the most scalable automation available. With its ability to manage a nearly unlimited number of List Processors, control of very high channel count systems becomes a practical reality. In addition, Sundance Digital controls the widest possible range of peripheral devices in its ever-expanding library of driver software included with each system.

Powerful, Easy To Use Playlist Control Software
Playlists are managed by Titan's Air Control Station. The Air Control software gives master control operators a GUI specifically designed for multi-channel, server-based automation. The interface features a horizontal timeline overview of a large number of channels, plus a separate area for specific playlist details. Secondary events are shown attached to each element to help visualize when their triggers will occur. Playlists have individual security rights, enabling authorized users at any Air Control station to select, view, manage, and control any channel from any List Processor visible within Titan's network domain.

Distributed Media Management
Using combinations of our Media Prep, Intelli-Sat, Mirror/Data Mover, Archive Manager, and Digital Delivery Management applications, Titan can ingest and transfer media between distributed servers. Content can be pushed from one server to another based on what is needed when the traffic log is processed, or pulled by the List Processor when it appears in an upcoming automation log. Multiple Titan systems share synchronized databases so that each system knows where any media resides at all times.

FlexEvent™
One of Titan's most powerful functions is the FlexEvent™. Any element in the inventory, or any line within the playlist, can have a virtually unlimited number of secondary FlexEvent™ actions associated with it. These may involve anything from a simple GPI logo insertion trigger, to a complex sequence of actions involving multiple studio devices. Titan also provides the ability to create complex macros which let the user define a complex series of FlexEvent™ actions and encapsulate them into a single command imbedded into the traffic log for automatic execution across multiple devices. In addition, "Channel Specific" FlexEvent™ actions may be created to control different devices for each playlist in a multi-channel environment.

Media Prep
M Prep Station hosts the applications that manage content on the video server, as well as the preparation of taped content for play-to-air using Segmenter™. Media Prep controls external tape transports to frame-accurately record into the server, and imports daily traffic logs to build or modify the playlist(s) for List Processor execution.

The Central Casting Solution
Titan is the only automation system that is equally at home handling a large number of automated playout channels or managing locations spread-out over a wide geographic area. For groups wishing to control widely dispersed properties from a central site, all that is needed is a Titan List Processor and video server per remote site. Each facility can have an Air Control Station set-up to monitor and control only their local channels. Add a Media Prep and SIDON to handle local ingest and control on-air peripherals. At the central site, Air Control Stations can be configured to monitor and manage all the remotes. This allows control of individual stations to be local when needed, and centrally managed when necessary.

SIDON™ Device Control
Sundance Integrated Device Operations Network is our powerful, expandable TCP/IP-based machine control architecture. SIDON frame-accurately controls most broadcast hardware. Drivers are continually added to our pool of "Sundance Certified" devices, and users in good standing have unlimited access to the full library at no added cost.

Titan benefits from a decade of Sundance Digital's transmission automation experience, and takes advantage of proven Sundance technologies, such as Intelli-Sat™ for satellite recording andSundance Archive Manager™ to manage near-line archiving. Titan owners can be assured of a robust automation system that will meet both current needs and future expansion plans.

Every Titan system includes a custom-written traffic interface. Software comes pre-installed on rack mountable (4RU) enterprise-grade Pentium-based Windows workstations with mirrored hard drives and redundant, hot-swappable power supplies for greater reliability. Redundancy may be even further enhanced by adding a fault-tolerant external SQL Data Server and TitanSync™ with auto-failover capability. Expand and upgrade Titan even further by adding playlists or functionality options, such as News Recorder™ to automate the process of re-purposing live programming recorded to the video server or Web Inventory, included with the Sundance SQL Data Server.
